That Sti is Running N20 and Turbo and it has a dog box. While the Fastest Evo VIII which is all Boost and is using a shephard 5 speed manual transmission is Running 8.5's Imagine How much faster the Evo would be with a Dogbox and N20.

That STi is a street legal daily driver, not a "STi body shell" l ike someone stated earlier. Well, i shouldnt say daily driver, but it can be.
i'm not biased to domestics nor imports, however all the "amer ican muscle cars" i see in the 7's - 9's have stripped internals... b asically a muscle car shell on a drag racing platform. Thats where the bea uty of this STi comes in.

I guess you failed to watch that episode of Top Gear where the FQ400 Evolut ion chased that Murcielago around the track and stayed on its rear bumper until the LAMBO spun out. They're not in the same class as those cars be cause, as you mentioned yourself, these are RALLY cars. Why put the AWD r ally cars on a solely dry track, when a RWD vehicle has the advantage, bot h in weight and rolling acceleration? Even though I bet an STi or Evo wit h comparable HP as one of those cars you mentioned would stay right along with them. Put your precious little corvettes, ferraris, etc on a road c ourse in the rain or on a dirt road and see how well they fare. Stupid du mbestic fanboi.

Plenty of 9 sec American cars do it just as well if not better. Anything with a turbo will inevitably be ridiculously fast with ease of power control through lowering boost for daily driving. Give me a big turbo road race Z06 and I bet it would spank that car at any type of event and drive to work everyday on low boost. IF STI are so fast and handle well why are they not in the same league as the vipers, corvettes, ferraris etc. when it comes to road racing? Maybe its that little tiny engine not capable of making enuff HP for the cut. Face it you cant take a rally car and make it a track car. The 2.0 ltr handicap will always be just that... a handicap.

The Amercan made cars listed above are very fast......but they always show up on a trailer to the races......specific built drag cars....straight line only. The STi in the video was driven from the hotel to the track and back.....it still goes around turns real good....not just in a straight line. And back home he drives it to and from work every day....can the American cars mentioned above do that??

After some research I have learned this. The first FWD car in the 7's was a Saturn (not import american made) and was drivin by a girl(let's face it,Saturn's are chick cars). Mazda has just RECENTLY become the first FWD import to hit the 7 second mark by running a 7.92@180mph in a 1800hp, 40lb of boost monster built by the engineers at Mazdaspeed. They spent millions getting the car to run a 7.92. Sadly I found no videos of an import FWD,RWD,or AWD running 7 anything 1/4 mile. Plenty of domestics doing 7's and faster. Wonder why that is? Steve Lynch- Pro 5.0 Mustang class 10.5 inch tire , twin turbo big block 6.66@225+mph. This can be done for around 175k American minus expenses. 6 second racecar for 175k sounds like a good deal to me. Be damned if I ever drove it though LOL
