1995sho - Yeah, I can't disagree about beating cars that cost more and the owner thinks they will rape you. It's a similar situation with the SRT and the looks of frustration on the faces of drivers of mustangs, 350Zs, WRXs, BMWs, Acura TLs, Benzes, Audis, camaros, hondas, $30K+ cars, etc etc etc. when I beat them. Of course, unlike streetfire where you get a bunch of 15 yr old kids talking sh*t, people on the street know better than to take my car lightly. And yes, I've been beaten a few times too, usually by porsches, corvettes, cobras, evos, a GNX (I still try for fun).
As for the trannys, the 2/3 synchro is notorious for having problems. I have a friend who is a mechaninic at a dealership so he replaced my tranny under warranty at around 70K miles because the synchros started acting up for the 2nd time. Now I have 30K on it and I'm using Royal Purple Synchromax fluid and I have the Mopar STS and Performance Clutch and it's like butter.
Other than that, the engine and turbo are fine at 100K, just gotta keep using premium gas, good oil (synthetic 5W30), and do regular tune-ups. I just had my timing belt and water pump changed as a precaution. Good luck with it if you do decide to get one. It's a fun car and easy to mod. Just gotta deal with the FWD, but that shouldn't be a problem if you are used to the SHO, and there really isn't any torque steer to worry about as long as you use good tires (I use Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3s in the summer). Hit me up with a private message if you wanna chat more about it.

Thanks SRT and I pretty much agree with you accept one thing, I do love to cruise around in my 10+ year old taurus. It is very fulfilling to beat new 20k+ cars. Wrx's, 3.5 maxima's(auto) and also eclipse gst's and the whatnot. I love seeing the looks on peoples faces when they get beat by a "taurus". As for the SRT thanks for the advice, did you personally ever have any trannsmission problems yourself or is this somthing you have just heard. Also is there anything else I should know about as I am considering buying a 05 srt with 30 thousand miles on it. I'm going to look at it this friday if it is still there, I appreciate your response.

1995sho - Yeah, no doubt paying 7000 for the SHO including the turbo isn't a bad deal and it will perform quite well, but like you said, it is still doubtful it could beat a stage 3 SRT. A tuned stage 3 with I/E can run mid-high 11s or better.
And yes, naturally the SRT is going to cost more for the car since the SHO is 10 years older. And the bottom line is this - do you want to cruise around in a 10+ year old Taurus SHO (which looks no differerent than a regular taurus) or a more modern car that has a unique look (compared to other neons) and a stock turbo?
As for the SRT, mine is an 03 with 100K miles and it's been fun. I've owned it for 5 years so far (bought it brand new in 03) and I'm trying to decide what car to get next. It's got it's little quirks, like any car, and the weakest link is the tranny. Other than that it's been great. It's a good tuner car and it looks da mn nice in silver :p

Yes, plus the cost of the car 4500 +19000 for a very nice srt =23500. He probably paid like 3000 for the sho I am guessing+4 grand for the turbo which comes to 7000. However I don't know if even he would beat a stage 3 srt, those things fly. I'm looking at picking up a 05 srt, you happy with yours?

1995sho You can get a Mopar Stage 3 kit with turbo toys for $3800. Add the Mopar Intake and Exhaust grand total is $4500.

Um SRT...."SRT-4 could beat that while spending half what you spent in mods" Um he probably spent around 4 k. I would love to see you buy a SRT-4 and mod it out for around 4 thousand dollars. Its not going to happen. The Srt-4 are really cool cars though, quite quick. And search SRT-4 vs SHO, there is a vid of a 95 SHO beating a SRT-4 from a stop until around a 100. And I do relize the SRT-4 got a bad start but the SHO still won.

Haha I checked your profile and found no vids of you beating a SRT-4, just a bunch of vids with captions about all the problems the car is having. And even if your SHO could run 12.9 consistently, an SRT-4 could beat that while spending half what you spent in mods.

Some dude, hey its John, I emailed you about your turbo setup, I have the 95 mtx. Man, sorry to see your baby caught on fire, hope you can get it up and running and make some more nasty videos. I sent you a freind request and I hope that you approve it. Ps. Is that a ford ASPIRE I see in the backround? I used to have one of those only a coupe 5 speed. It would smoke both of are SHO's for sure. Not, Peace man.

oil feed line to the turbo failed and sprayed my exhaust with oil. it will cost be about 30 bucks to get her fixed and running 12's again. if you think my car is slower then a SRT4 then mybe you shoud check my other vids of me spinning 1/2 of the 1/4 mile and still beating a srt4. The SHO enging is definately a well built one, although I can't say much for the transmissions.
