based on his driving 7.8 is really good, I went to a ride and drive where the cobalts were showing 4.1 MPG. so 7.8 on foot to floor driving is not bad, although half of it was probably made when the wheels were spinning.

I completely agree... I do love top gear, i never miss an episode, but they definitely have a bias towards american anything. I just take it with a grain of salt personally. And yes, it clearly does show 21.8 mpg during the drag, it all depends on how one drives it. Notice he didnt complain about the loudness and the power.... he "loved" it.

I love how they comment on the car's mileage and show 7.8mpg but clearly show 21.8mpg during the drag race. Which is it Jeremy? I'm so sick of their obvious bias. "With an american engine" I guess we don't engineer very well over here. Did the brits ever figure out how stop engines from leaking/burning oil? And quit testing so many GM vehicles on a WET track you tards. If I were in the market I would gladly fork out 30k for a 360hp 6spd manual G8.

400 bhp/400 lb ft\tq LS2 2005-2006 GTO. New G8GT: 361 bhp and 385 lb ft\tq

Not good for a heavier car.

our G8 GT will make 40 less bhp than the outgoing GTO, and 15 lbs-ft of torque plus the G8 GT will also be 200+ lbs heavier than the GTO. This all equals a slower car than the GTO and nowhere near the level of performance that this car in the video depics. My relative at GM says that GM is considering a GXP model that may have an LS3 vett motor just like the GTO had the LS2 vett motor.

It's also rumored to have 445 bhp instead of the vettes 436, and in a manual tranny only, then add an automatic 3 months later. Where as the G8 GT will have an automatic only at first. Lets keep our fingers crossed that GM brings us the GXP, then we can go eating BMW M5 and M6 V-10's and AMG E63 Mercedes.

Yeah i have a feeling that when that comes stateside it will have been "watered down" if you cant already tell our car companies seem to think all americans think about is a soft ride with the exception of things like the corvette and ford gt and gt500 KR
