I wasn't saying that a Fbody cost 30k (brand new they were) but now you can get one easily for the price that he stated $16.7k

Liltroy is correct, $3,000 back in 1969 is about $17,000 in todays money. If $3,000 was = to $30,000 that would mean a $10,000 income in 1969 would be a $100,000 income today. That is to large of a gap.
Thanks,
Matt

RedE is right, the LS1 Fbodys are a great cost and the fastest LS1 completly stock has gone like 12.9 and now days you cna pick up a early 2000's Fbody for less then $16.7k I am not trying to disagree that $3000 dollars for that sound amazing....

Actually, what cost $3000 in 1969 would cost right around $16700 now according to the inflation calculator. So even now, that would be a great deal for a high 13 second car stock. I mean, the cheapest car that I know of in recent years that did high 13's stock was the srt4 and it came in at $20,000+. If anyone knows of any STOCK vehicle now days that does better than 13.8 for cheaper than 20k, please comment.I'm not being a smart a_s or trying to start an arguement here, I just think it would be good info to know. ;)

This shows a all stock 1/4 mile pass in a Hurst SC/Rambler. This was filmed for speed channel in 2006. 13.87 1/4 mile time in a car that cost less than $3,000 back in 1969. Add a few simple bolt ons and you could have a low 12 second car !!
thanks,
Matt
