Funny thing is, a stock tC is even faster than that. It runs 9's in the 1/8 stock.

Thats not a full quater mile is it? Because a tC with I/H/E isn't running 10.10. I know I own one.

First off, dont believe for a socond that I'm a scion hater. I happen to believe that the TC is a pretty good performance per dollar platform but I also I believe that there are factory freaks out there(as there are with any vehicle) that may be capable of high 9's stock. And maybe yours was one of the lucky few. But the majority seem to run mid to low 10s. (that I've seen) and a trip to drag times.com shows the same. Theres not a single tc in the 9's there that doesnt have a least a few bolt ons(not that its the best site to judge by, but they do require proof to post). Anyway, like I said, I'm sure there are a few that do it stock, but its far from the norm.(in my opinion)

While your experience might be the case, you can not gauge that ALL tC's run that because of the local talent at your track. I was running High 9's all day long and low 15sec passes all day long in our 5spd tC. The power mod at the time was an exhaust system. Now, it runs 12's on low boost.

I realize this was an old post but recently I got an opportunity to see and race several tc's at the 411 drag strip (My local track) only one managed to get into the 9's. He had intake, header, magnaflow cat, and ebay catback(thats all he told me anyway) and his best run was a 9.98(which he never repeated). Two were running in the mid to low 10's and there was an automatic with a muffler and intake running low 11's. My 97 automatic prelude(still with the stopped up cat and nothing but a home made intake) ran a best of 10.25 that day(beating the times of all but one TC even thought on that particlular run I beat him by a fender, lol). At any rate I'll admit that they are a little faster than I thought they would be, but I'm still not buying that they would beat a manual h22 prelude stock(or even with a few bolt ons). After all, aside from the guy with all the bolt ons, they couldnt even beat my stock automatic and its running like crap!!!
