There are a few different ways of doing this to glass generally known as "smart glass" there is Electrochromic devices, (SPD) Suspended particle devices, and as mentioned before (PDLCs) Polymer dispersed liquid crystal devices. This is the type of technology on auto dimming rearview mirrors they also have a Ferrari with an electrochromic convertible top. The technology is still getting better Ive seen some that go from clear to black as night. I always thought it would be cool to have this on your diver and passenger windows for the sun or if someone is starring at you and you want to trip them out.

For those of you that have not been smart enough to realize a nice piece like this isn't for tricking police officers. More for the petty slow drivers that call your license plate in when you pass them on a double yellow, cutting people off, etc. etc. If you are involved in a police chase i don't really see how this thing will do you much good at all unless of course you get away. Yes I know people get away all the time etc. etc. but your odds of getting caught far outweigh your chances of a successful evasion!

this is old stuff man..... you can get the glass at any glass distributor but it is pricey stuff and is normally special order... also on the whole tint issue, ive never seen any of it that goes any color other than opaque and i have used it many times considering i used to work for a glass company.

I think I read about a ferrari having a back window with that stuff, a nob on the dash adjusted the tint on the back window, cool stuff

no a white lambo wont blend...but how many ppl drive white lambos? now i drive a vette...how many ppl drive a vette? 'round here...alot...this could be handy if i sped alot
