I doubt that the VK56 will be in the Frontier, but that would definitely be cool if they did that as an option.

Now that the VK56 is in the pathfinder, I'm hoping it finds its way into the frontier as well, since it's basically the same platform. 390lb-ft in a midsize truck would be awesome.

the VK56 in the Titan is choked by the intake, headers, exhaust and just about everything else. The cams are tiny compared to even the VK45. With intake, headers, and exhaust, people are getting almost 70hp at the wheels. Tune of course. The cams are another story. No one makes big cams for the VK56, even the tiny ones make 30-40whp, and they are still small. If someone made some 280+ cams for the VK56, we would see some 600+hp naturally aspirated engines in the Titan, or anything else you can stick the engine in.

The VH45 makes 325hp in the M45, and the VK56 makes 320 in the QX56, so the smaller V8 is making more hp, but not torque. Plus stock for stock, the VH revs higher and is smoother, making it a little more suited for a sports car. However, you are right, the 5.6 has more potential.

The VH45 makes LESS horsepower than the VK56. The VK45 makes more power than the VK56, but a lot less torque. The VK56 in the Titan has been getting almost 50rwhp with just intake and a cat back exhaust. The list of mods for the VK56 is getting longer and longer as more manufactutors add to their line up. The VK56 has more potential than the 4.5 liter engines, just take a look at the intake ports on the VH & VK engines side by side. The VK56 is a bad mamajamma!

Like I said before, the VK56 is better in all aspects. You can rev the 56, but needs extra stuff to go much past 7200. Carl Renezeder uses the VK56 in his Titan Championship Off Road Racing (CORR) Truck. It is making 900hp+ naturally aspirated at 9500+rpm.

Not really. Maybe for a truck...The VH has more hp and revs higher, since most people wouldn't want to shift at 5900 in a sports car.

I'd rather have it with the infiniti (nissan) 4.5 V8. Would make more sense than a truck motor, although 400lb-ft would be crazy in a Z n/a.
