Mustangs were built to "preform" Civics were built to get you to point A and Point B while getting good gas milage being that it's a compact car. A civic isn't a preformance car. Yes, you can put a vtec in it and a turbo. But when you build a mustang you get some more power than what you would with a civic, for the same money. About 100hp+ more than a civic.
And you will get more out of a mustang than civic, for example, a cold air intake will give you more power than what it would to a civic. And same for exhaust, supercharger, ect... I own a 03 Mustang gt 5 speed with only a cold air intake, and it EATS all stock civics, type r's vtec, SI. Now I want someone to argue with me that a civic with 20 grand put into it boosting 20+ psi would beat me, get on it people.

Dude you make no sense.. at all. The civic and the mustang dont have the same price tag either. i shouldnt even have to clarify that. You can run 10 lbs on stock internals on that motor i know ive seen it. And your still not getting the point, this is my last post because if this doesnt sink in nothing will. Your argument is that a fair comparison would be if both cars, regardless of what they are, have the same amount of money put into them. Explain how a $70k viper and a $3k metro, both with $5k of work put into them, is a fair comparison? Please explain, cause im just not understanding it.. at all. I know the civic won there was a lot more money invested into it. Buy a $20k civic put $4K into it, buy a $20K mustang put $4K into it. Race see what happens. Sorry a mustang and a viper do not have the same price tags on them. If some one pays $100K for a mustang they are a dumb ass. You would have to put close to $100k in a GEO to get it to stay with a Viper probably three jet engines would do it. Still a waste of time. If you converted a n/a engine to a turbo set up for a lot less than $4K it must be homemade with a hairdryer and the old patio furniture in the back yard. I just think putting money into a performance car is kickass, putting money in a car that was never designed for performance a waste of time. Hondas are a joke (that doesn't include bikes). CBR's are bad ass.

Yes it can be cheaper to build an import, it depends on what your looking for. When you asked if I ever priced a turbo kit, yes your right they are expensive, which is why we "build" them, the word of the day is "build" which can be done alot cheaper then $4k. So what your saying is that.. lets say a viper, put 5k into it, then a geo metro, put 5k into that.. and your gonna tell me thats a fair comparison? Don't try to tell me it is cheaper to build a import. I work on imports for a living the price for them is usually double for parts. I am going to put 3 jet engines on my car so i can try and beat a stock SR71. Have you priced a turbo kit I doubt it cost you less than 4k. I am not crying just having a hard time trying to understand some import guys. If there is to be a car comparison I just think both cars should get the same amount of money put into them for the comparison to be fair. for instance having a top fuel drag car racing a stock street car then being surprised that the top fueler won. I don't get it. Honda guys give import guys a bad name.

CJDUB, show me a cobra, that can push 20lbs of boost on stock internals, and make 900rwhp. Oh, and don'tputshame, i doubt 4k was dumped into it, depending on the motor, and if it was, that car prob cost less then that, so compare the 2, that mustang stock costs more then this civic with the build. Quit cryin and makin excuses, the civic won, kudos to the civic.

put 10 psi of boost in the gt and race again see what happens!
