Back in the late 80's my 1st car was an '85 Scirocco. Starting my VW leg humping, slow but cool. I cut the springs and bored the exhaust. Then the 16V came along..It was a BEAST. It was light and easy to mod yourself. I used to frustrate a lot of Stangs and Z28's w/ it. It would do the same to a lot of Today's cars that would look over at it, and laught it off. Maybe not as Techy as the Cobalts,Srt4, WRX's, EVos, but PURE sports car. I tried to move a telephone pole w/ mine, and lost. Cool Vid by the way.

ok first off the cobalt either has a 2.2sc or a 2.4sc that scirroco has a 1.8 dohc n/a for it to beat a cobalt periode is impressive and that cobalt has better suspension then the dub with more horse power and more torque its just that the volkswagen is an all around better car

it depends on time attack times from earlier in the evening when all the cars get to see who can run the fastest lap(without cones ofcoarse). Usually the slower car will get the head start. Alsso if you look at a couple other vids I have posted you'll see cars winning from the outside easily too. Especially if you watch the one I have posted with the balt vs. crx, you'll se why the inside lane is so dangerous and not as big of advantage as people think.

Maybe that is why they had the VW starting from behind the cobalt. Just a thought though

I also wanted to say... stupid comment glitch. The handling differance cant really be judged considering the VW had the inside and had clearly less track to cover.

Not to shabby, but the VW might have had the advantage?
