Hans Joachim Stuck(pro racedriver) drove the X5 in 7:49 minutes around the Nordschleife. What Stuck basically says: "Its a dream to drive something that has so much power that, thanks to 4 wheel drive, moves forward properly. You can imagine what an experience the record lap on the Nordschleife was, the topspeed achieved was 309 km/h. The sitting height combined with the power and the speed this car achieved made the lap one unique experience in my career. The car reaches 260km/h very fast but then it takes awhile to reach speeds of more than 300km/h because of the aerodynamic drag thats not comparable to that of a sportscar and the cars weight of 2 tons.In these long turn you experience the great handling, there is no over- and no understeer. Its amazing that the car is stock so far besides the engine which already competed in Le Mans."The announcer: "The suspension has been lowered by 30mm. Besides that the suspension and the looks have only been slightly modified. No weight and comfort features have been removed on the cars interior, it still has got the stock 6 gear manual transmission. It took BMW 4 months to make the car hit the streets."Stuck:" Its a great dream for me and and for BMW its an attestion for what is possible with an X5. That you can drive the car with the chassis and the body exposed to nearly 3 times the power as you have in the standard car and that it withstands it without problems shows the great engineering achievement."Host: "The car is not for sale, even an oil sheik who offered BMW several million Euro received a refusal."
