yeah, i meant the R34 versions. The previous versions came in as race cars. The true engine of the skylines was the RB-X or something like. it was in the 400r.

emissions are more than exhaust gases.. this car is insane.
I am glad it is not continuing production. There is a much more stable power coming from balanced engines with lower rpms and streetable supremely in comparison to the Supra. Stright six was a lemon like the straight 8, and folks are really culted with the inline four, which is just as bad. Japan is a stickler for details with engines never meant to do what they make them do.. Aside from the boxer four and v8's they are shipping out- easier balanced engines truly winning respect they deserve, via japans expertise.

Totally agree with chagign the gears. I was thinking the same thing but the n again that is one reason why the car felt so fast and responded so well. It's a give and take but I would get different gears myself

Actually, the skyline WAS intended for racing. In order to be qualified to compete, nissan needed to produce a road going version of the car. They ju st chose the sedan as the main platform and the rest is history. Also, new emissions standards going into effect in 2002 did end the r34. There was still a market for the car and if it was about making a huge profit, nissa n would not have went back and had nismo create the z-tune.

yes i love the supra and skyline the attention to detail on these cars were done so perfectly with both good suspension and good balance unlike the a merican counterparts who think slapping a big engine in a crappy car with a lousy suspension is a sports car and then burning 12 miles to the gallon of gas all while running high 12 second to low 13 second times in the 1/4 mile. The only exception to the rule is the new Z06 look at the quality an d time took to build it and the price of it speaks for itself at 70K this is probably the best built american car going with a low weight of 3100LBs good suspension and awesome horsepower on an all natural asiprated engine pushing out 500 to the wheels. Now america this how you end the import cr aze but you'd better work fast time is running out and your market is shri nking by the year.

And the skyl ine isnt only meant for racing dumbass. The r34 is based on the sedan vers ion of this car which is meant to be a daily driver. both cars are meant t o be daily drivers. And emissions did not kill this car. If that was the c ase then there would be no muscle cars. What killed this car was that not many people were buying them. they werent making a profit.
