Cool. I didn't know that. Sounds like a dream job, huh? Win a bunch of races the go on to work for GM on the ZR1 and test it at the coolest track on the planet. Thanks for the info.

LSX the ZR1 driver was Head of GM Performance Division and former multi-national champion in SCCA racing. and IIRC he has a few "ring" records himself. like I said his more than GM engineer like most people think.

Okay. Then again, I tend to belive that you could get a better time if you put one of the Chevy C6R Lemans drivers behing the wheel. Maybe not, of course. Maybe even only a couple of seconds, but if the engineer was the best driver for the job, then why doesn't he represent Corvette at the track?... Or does he? If he does then my arguement is a moot point, but the idea behind this post is the reason for my prior post. I wasn't intending to sound completely unimpressed. I'm sure the "engineer" could out-perform me at the track while on sleeping pills. After all... he still holds the record lap time.

LSX to say that ( The ZR1 lapped the trap with an engineer at the wheel )oh big deal. the guy that drive the ZR1 it's more than engineer his driving level is up to the guys that is pro driver. the reasons Chevy bag it up with 7.26time it's because it won't make much different putting pro to the wheel, the engineer is as good as pro. as far GTR driver his also an engineer, his job is to get the best time out of the GTR. the GTR driver job is to take notes what need to adjust with supension ETC. his in the same category as engineer. but Chevy decide to call it more fancy, instead of saying test driver let's put engineer instead.

The ZR1 lapped the trap with an engineer at the wheel. Not a true race driver. For now, regardless of your arguement, the ZR1 is the king of production type vehicles. Pointing out that a PROTOTYPE V-Spec is quicker is pointless. The GTR you can buy won't keep up.

though da gt-r has 480awhp and 430 torque at the wheels the dynoed it and it has 507hp at da engine n 506tq at da engine .......or sum sh*t like that
