OK, Vette's weigh less and are more aerodynamic. While I believe the challenger could be tuned for great gas mileage, it probably wouldn't be as good as a Vette's.

I love V-8's but not this bath tub on wheels! I hate retro cars with a passion, you can't really do anything else to update it. Don't really see this thing selling much and will be gone in no time. Personnally I'd rather have a Magnum SRT-8

Mike, While I agree with you that turbocharged 4s are most likely the future of performance, I really appreciate what dodge along with other American car makers are doing. No later than 2010, we are going to see some huge government imposed crackdowns on emissions. I have read from more than one source that the challenger is just kind of a last hurrah to please the V8 musclecar purists.

4100lb car with a V8. Great timing on the part of Dodge, with gas prices going into $7 in a few years I can see huge market for a heavy, bulky car with huge V8. V8 is old technology, American automakers still refuse to accept that era of cheap oil is no more and it is time to move to efficient I4 turbo cars. In 5-10 years V8 cars will be history.
