what size turbo would be good for a low lag on a 2.0L while still making good power up top

yeah 3gsucks in tampa is going to do it or cobb in texas not sure. im in iraq but soon as i get the tune ill run it and post vids. dont know much about these cars but i have all bolt ons and now looking for a new engine to build. then swap and put all the stuff on it. i really just want to run high 11's thats it.

Dude i can't say PSI is relative to the overall picture of the tune. I mean 15psi could be too much depending on the tune's parameters. 19-20psi is about average for a tune w/ moderate timing and fat fuel. 300awhp is about average on a forgiving dyno. Numbers don't speak much, but trap speeds do. Track it and see it what times you pull. Depends on how competent your tuner is will be the ultimate outcome of how much boost/power you can run safely. I ran 27psi daily with my stock EJ205 with a 20g.

ok i should have 300 awhp 350hp or so at crank. how much psi can i run before hitting the hurt level to the engine? i heard 19.5 is still consevative. is it?

COBBWRX---No, i doubt it honestly man, more likely a high 12. His car is a factory freak man......that about it. You can mod all you want but some cars just put out more than others. Most tuners (inc me) will tune conservatively for customer car as well. You can't risk a customers car or your reputation to make a couple extra hp. He is a very good friend and he wants the stock WRX/stock VF39 1320 record since i never got to break the stock EJ205 1320 record. His car is tuned to the ragged edge but as safe as possible. 23-24psi on pump with considerable timing. We ran up to 25 on 114. He is in the easily 330s range in terms of power on pump. It is a VF39 with a very, very heavy helper spring on the WG to help hold boost up high and make more than the 39 wants to. A standard pro-tune will net 260-290s if you're lucky. His car, from his times and MPH, can run high 7s if he wants to risk breaking and get off the line right. He is walks meth'd STIs even a meth'd 20g STI. The turbo is out of it's efficiency range and blowing too much hot air to make anymore power. Once the meth comes off my car and on his we're spraying 550cc of 100% alchy we might go a little more boost, timing, and trailer it to the track in Mississippi and get our times. Should be in a week or two. I'll post a vid. ;)

times are still close so what your saying is my highly modded wrx with a vf39 turbo at 19.5psi could run low low 12's if so damn i hope your right

so ur running VF 39 times with a "stock" turbo. What is done to the tubro cuz I know it cant be the stock TD04 and ur running high 12's and pushing 24 psi, Thats even pushing it on the VF39 which I have.

Uh....i wen 8.3 and ran a 12.66.Went 7.9 and ran a 12.32. You can't use drag calculators...they're for domestic v8 that run consistent. ;)

8.3 is a 12.9 and a 8.1 is a 12.6 to hit low 12's like 12.2 is a 7.8 1/8 time. i have alot done a hoping to get low 12's
