There is no such thing as the best motor in the world, there is the most popular engine in the world, and sorry to say that's the SBC which is exactly what's in that skyline, not the RB26. It makes sense to me why they did this swap if it's a drift car, you wouldn't want AWD for drifting, and the ls1 has a flatter curve than the RB26, making it a better candidate for drifting. This is just my assumption. I'm sure it goes beyond that as well, like weight distribution and position of engine etc.

sweet jesus. why would you remove the best engine in the world and replace it with the second best? :( I know it will be just as fast, but having an american v8 in an r34 makes my heart hurt :(
