thats really stupid to say that a FI car with the same power as the n/a car will win... it has so many factors that play its crazy, lag, weight, gearing, shift points, power curve, tire size, intercooler efficiency, aerodynamics and so on. just to make my disagreement more clear.. FI does not "pull" harder than n/a with the same HP the ONLY "pull" you feel is the engine's torque.

bmw, the only time lag is concerned is early in the gears when proper shifting and launch may add/decrease lag. on the longer gears, the turbo is already spooled and you are getting straight power. i must mention taht vettes are very good at topend, if u notice most stockish vettes taht get beat off the line, come screaming by the otehr car on top end(kudos to the S2K for holding him off). turbos, depending on the size, MAKE topend power, they definetly dont help out with lowend. plus hp is what makes you go in the topend too, which is why u have hondas making 500 hp with 250 tq, but they rev to 9k which is why topend works well for them. now if they can just get off the line better. i hope i got that right :D

LONGGONE: how would the turbo car pull through revs faster? it has a turbo to turn. N/A doesn't have turbo lag. i thought N/A has better power and torque curves. or am i wrong on all this?

i love how everyones always like o wah it had more whp y didn't it win..dude think about it, it's called PULL. if you have a 300whp N/A going up against an identical 300HP turbo or supercharged car..the N/a will lose everytime. turbos and superchargers push the car through it's paces faster because its forcing the air in. it might make the same power, but it makes it faster, it pulls itself through every rev. yea the vette lost, but once it got near the top end, the vettes making the same power at the same time and it wasn't dropping back anymore..in fact looked like it was closing in on the s2k...put twin turbos on a z06 and i think the world would spin backwards..if dodge and chevy ever decide to kill off the viper (ends in 2010 or 11 can't remember) or z06 and end w a bang..look for a power adder..(well chevy just did it it's called the zr-1) and viper...good lord look at the acr and tell me you don't think putting a blower or turbo on that would be wicked.

NastySS, the S2k doesn't weigh an incredible amount less, especially with the added weight of the turbo. It's not a weight difference like turbo Civic hatch vs. Cobra where it's like 1000 lbs. difference. This was more like 250 lbs...not much when the Vette had 40 more whp. A Z06 is my "reasonable" dream car. All you need is a cam and bolt-ons and you can rape almost anything "normal" you run into on the street.

Running 110 octane is fine for track but not really a DD type of thing. I personally like the fast cars on 91/93 octane.
