Carroll Shelby wouldn't put his name on anything not worth fighting for!! His work with Ford help them achieve alot over the years..Oh and your precious viper...do some reseach, Shelby also helped design that car. And for some reason he still comes back to FORD!! yes, the Z06 runs a 427, and as far as GM always being behind...lets see with a smaller motor than the current viper it puts out within 5hp of the vipers engine ( I forget if the viper is 500 or 510 hp)...either way the current Z06 whips the current vipers butt....then on the other end of the spectrum the current gt500 has a F**King supercharger and still doesn't make as much as the N/A Z06 engine; and as far as comparing the Z06 to the GT500..well lets just say the Z51 C6 is a little more fair because the Z06 is definately in a different league (its closer to the $150K plus Ford GT (which stock for stock is a drivers race between the two)......oh and in the latest Motor Trend there is a article about the 2010 (I think) corvette having 700 hp..can you say factory stock 10 sec. corvette...yeah thought so..suck it....

It will not hang with a Z06 on a road course, period...MAYBE in a straight line (maybe...probably not, but maybe...)

The only way to compare a terminator and a 350 chevy is to know the CFM of the blower. The fox body mustangs always beat the slow 165 horsepower 5.0 camaros ALWAYS. I did race a few 5.7 in my time and they were quicker but still the heads on them were horrible. We are looking back about 15 years and saying they handled like crap. They handles great in their time. And Chevy guys will always compare a 5.7 to the 5.0 or the 4.6 until the new one comes out then we get to do it all over it again isn't this why its fun?

Well I wouldn't agree that they handled like crap though. The F-bodies were decent with turns better so then fox's....But who wanted to ride in a cockpit thats you could never clean the front windshield because it was a mile long and the motor sat in your lap. I guess no one thats why sales were slim to none.
