GMMG did NOT produce 1999-2001 ZL1s. This was a test mule and most likely a pet project in GMMG. The real ZL1's were produced in 2002 (69 of them) only 30 had the Phase III 427 package 600+hp and the rest were around 400+hp (severely under-rated).

The stock z28 and SS in 2002 were 325hp, so the comment above about,

I guess if you only count the ZL1’s that came with 400hp this would be true. However, even the 400hp versions came with TONS of upgrades that stock z28 and SS versions didn’t have, such as a 12 bolt rear-end and 4.10 rear axle.

The 2002 Phase III ZL1 runs low 10's. Some have known to be faster (mid 9’s).

my bad! i didnt know that they actually made it in 1999 or 2000. i only read about and heard about the 2002, nothing from those years. sorry thats my fault, but when you say it has a bit more power is an understatement. it comes with a 572ci. with over 700 horses thats a little more than any factory ss. sorry if i made anyone mad

thats not a factory car for 1999 or 2000. the zl1 was only made in 2002 for the last time possible. and it was never anywhere near 170,000 or 230,000 dollars. gm never made a car that much and never will
