The other person in the Porsche survived as well but this was a completely bullshit wreck. The officiating crew should have responded IMMEDIATELY. They were more worried about little grass fires than raging burning cars on fire with HUMAN LIVES in there. Both drivers had severe burns all over there bodies and were severely hurt from it. They shouldn't of even been hurt though except maybe a bruise.

the first people to even start putting the flames out (after 50 seconds) were his fellow competitors....not the track staff. He sued and won 2.5 million for gross negligence on the part of the organizers. rightly so, hes still partially paralized and had to have plastic surgery to reconstruct his face (the visor on his helmet melted onto his face).

In a way I agree. If this was an amateur, volunteer based event, then no, nobody should be sueing. This is a sponsored racing series, where there is certain expectations and agreements however. Law suit? Ehhh, I wouldn't go that far, but maybe use the threat as leverage to get the track to create plans for better response.
