Turbos are very tough, my holset HX60 went through hell on the testing phase(over oiling, bad electric oil pump, etc) they can take alot of punishment, well my holset turbos do??

Eh, it's fine. I filled the CHRA up with 30 weight, plugged the oil feed, pressurized the oil drain; no leaks. Turns out any shaft play I was seeing was only there because I cleaned out the CHRA with solvent after this ^^ test. No more shaft play now that there is oil back in the CHRA. Thanks for the concern guys, but she should be A-OK.

Sorry to tell that, but you will need to rebuilt your turbo. I already same test with air pressure hose and i need to rebuilt my turbo :(

Yes, I was very bored. I seriously doubt I did any damage to the turbo, but I'm questioning its condition since I received it used. I don't think the seller was completely honest about the sale. We'll see as soon as I get it on the car. I set my piston ring gaps for a ton of boost, but she really doesn't burn any oil. If I start to notice a blue cloud of smoke following me, then I know what's wrong :-\

man that is not smart at all spinning a turbo like that with no oil running in it could cause the seals to go bad

I'm quite sure running the compressor wheel at a few hundred RPM for a minute with residual oil in the CHRA would be enough to "fry" steel seals... right.

I hope you had oil in the cartridge otherwise its almost gauranteed that you fried your seals already.

It's a shopvac... not going to create enough velocity to even knick my fingers. Trust me, I let the blades flick my fingertips while it was going.

T3/60-1 test - Took this idea from another video on here for testing used turbos. In all honesty, I ...
