Broken lines means you can overtake ONLY if the way is clear. What he did was 'Driving without due care and attention' .. Which is a criminal offence.

Cause if it does, you're gonna have to plane your local road workers for that van passing where it did, lol. Those broken lines went over hills and everything.Crazy

Hey UKBiker, I think what 86mike was trying to say is that the area was marked as a safe passing zone. But the whole road you were on had broken lines??? In the states, broken lines mean you can pass, do they not mean the same over there? Not being a smart ass.....I really want to know. ;)

So what your saying is that as long as there is a broken white line its ok to overtake even if you cant see ? .. As a biker I am fully aware there is 1000's of idiots driving, and take as many precautions as nessessary.

I agree that the van driver was being an idiot but there is a broken white line all the way in that video so the biker should have been aware that anyone could overtake at any time.If you choose to drive a bike fast on public roads you must accept the potential risk.

Cheers Liltroy .. Glad someone is switched on. Here in the UK the official figures are only 14% of accidents are speed related of which most are in towns at just over the 30mph limit. So thats 86% caused by bad driving like the idiot in the red van.

Lets see, the guy on the motorcycle passed on open straights, stayed in his lane around blind curves, and still managed to avoid a dumbass passing around a blind curve that was in the bikes lane....and you guys are calling the guy on the bike reckless? You people act like you always drive the speed limit or something. This guy obviously has complete control over his bike at the speed he is running which eauates to safe riding. If he was riding recklessly(beyond his ability) then you would have seen a wreck at the end of the video when the moron in the suv pulled that "truly" reckless pass around that blind curve! The statistics are in folks.....86% of motorcycle accidents(in the state of TN anyway) are caused be the people driving the 4 wheeled vehicles, not by the motorcyclist involved. Those are the facts. If you dont believe it, visit Tn's .gov website and see them for yourself. I cant even go for an hour ride without some idiot in a car cutting me off or running me into the other lane and then I get on here and see a video thats so obviously the "cagers" fault and idiots accually have the gaul to talk crap about the rider who managed to stay composed and keep an accident from happening. When are people gonna wake up?
