its a VW Golf not a minivan. Some of those golf's are pretty quick. I'm not sure where reverse is on this car the last manual VW i drove reverse was next to second you had to do some crazy stuff with the shifter to put it in reverse meaning, you wouldnt accidently put it in reverse. The just had a brain fade or something.

actualy reverse isnt next to first......it actualy is 1st.... the only difference is that the shifter actualy pushes down and if its down and you put it in first your actualy in reverse...... so probably 98% chance thats what happened

in his defense in a VW along w/ sum other cars, the reverse is right next to 1st...but still a laughable truly bone head mistake, lol, poor guy
