Nope, no surge in this baby. This one's built by professionals. And 614494's right. Its a combination. Each time the fuels blasts in the downpipe a small spin is set to the turbine, but the throttle would be more or less closed, causing the blow off to chirp in the unmistakeable Rally way. Don't try to put anti lag on your sorry stock SRT's or whatever. It kills the turbo.

ooWRCoo drives a '02 WRX. Wow!... a whopping 227 hp stock, how pathetic is that for the price? Top it off with the performance worlds worst and I mean absolutely worst transmission!...they suck and blow out at only 5-thousand miles. Don't even think to mod that car without first doing some serious tranny upgrades. Also their abs system engages prematurely, gonna' need new brakes at only 12k miles, the ac condenser will fail every 2-yrs and the drivers side power window motor has to be replaced often...that's some piece of quality you drive there! LOL!

My guess he's been smoked by so many stock SRT-4's he's got a bit of an identity crisis going on. He feels he paid way too much for a piece of s**t Subaru. Yeah the new STI's are pretty sweet but an older WRX ...PUHLEEEEEEEEZE!

sounds like it doesnt have a bov at all. i dont know all that much about anti lag but that definitely sounds like compressor surge to me....ya know, air not being released in the system fast enough so it surges the turbo. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/bebc860e-570b-4382-9672-0e614a8c5ceb.htm
theres some compressor surge for ya

The chirping is caused by a combination of the anti-lag system and the BOV. The Anti-Lag keeps the turbo spinning at speed, which means the BOV pops when the TB is not open...so, you're hearing the anti-lag and the BOV fight each other as it "hunts" for a happy medium. Like when a car's idle hunts. By the way...take a video of your camaro in the snow. I'd drive my STI with its summer tires before I'd drive a RWD american car in the snow again.

That chirping sound is not from the anti-lag system. That chirping is the blow off valve i'm pretty positive. - The only other possibility is that it's the wastegate, but that just doesn't really sound like a wastegate at all. Notice it only happens when he lifts throttle? Hence the BOV venting excess pressure. An anti lag system "POPS" very loudly.. it does not make any type of "woosh" or "chirp".. it's a damn explosion in your exhaust system.. nothing more.

By the way you don't need antilag to make that chirping sound but it makes it longer when lifting of the throttle. you just need a popof that makes that sound instead of just a whoosh

The 06 Impreza WRC is damnd loud compare to the earlier ones, tought the limit was 100db just by the slightest dab on the throttle it roars like hell:)

I would love to put anti-lag on my STI... the sound of it's is just about as good as porno... and yes.. equal length headers will make a subaru loose it's burble... i'm hopeing with in the next 2 years to have my GC up to qualify as a rallyspec car... it'll take time and plenty of money.. but it's a dream :)
