You can't ever count out the late 20's and early 30's cars if you're into street racing. Two of the quickest REAL street cars I witnessed actually driving to the place and street racing were early model Fords. They are Chevrolet powered though ;-) - The Rat powered '29 ran 7.70's and the Mouse '34 ran 8.20's on the same night. They cost a lot to build but you don't need as much motor since they're so light, of course.
