This comment is for normal guy. First of all, even though a 1986 5.0 engine looks just like a 1993 5.0 engine, its actually different. In 1986, the 5.0 engine was a speed density, had E6 turbo swirl heads and a smaller throttle body. The 1993 5.0 engine has a mass air meter, higher-flowing E7TE truck heads and a slightly bigger throttle body. Read an article about fox-body mustang history sometime.

I have flowmasters, and I don't hear any pinging. Usually, if you hear that noise, your engine is detonating.

It's because of my cats, i was thinking of throwing an offroad H pipe under it and seeing how good it sounded then. I can't stand the pingy sound and the drone of flowmasters, otherwise i would have gone with them or a similar chambered muffler.

those are pretty quiet. get some flowmasters. glasspacks are SUPPOSED to be louder than chambered mufflers.
