Yes you can do that, but the stock rods become very suspect at these power levels. The 355" engine in the white car has Eagle 6" SBC rods engineered into it and they have been working great so far. The block needs to be sonic checked to verify that it can accept the larger overbore without leaving the cylinder walls too thin.

ive read the build and it sounds like an awesome motor it sounds like you were able to use all the 350 components all you had to do was just bore it bigger and put those pistons on the stock 350 rod is this all true ? just wanna make sure i understand correctly

The 372" is a 350 block that has been bored to use Old 425 pistons. He actually had not intended for them to be that large, but the place he ordered them from sent him the wrong oversize. check out the complete build in the builds section on www.RealOldsPower.com
