Scion announced the entry into the Formula Drift professional drift series in April 2008. The driver chosen to drift the first rear wheel drive Scion tC was Ken Gushi. Gushi learned how to drive at the age of 13 and started his drifting career when he competed in the D1 Gran Prix at 16 as the youngest D1 driver in history.
