This engine was built and tuned by the students and instructors at the School of Automotive Machinists. The engine is the power plant for our '99 Camaro SS that runs in the NMCA LSX Shootout All Motor Class. With big rpm naturally aspirated engines, they never see peak torque due to their designed operating range. Peak torque comes in below 6,000 rpm, but that doesn't matter because the engine is designed to live in the 8,000 to 9,500 RPM range. Come see us in action in Memphis, TN Oct. 15-18.

The torque is low because of the RPMs you are looking at. That specific "range" only drops to 7500, it doesnt show below that. As you can see as you go lower in the RPM band, the torque keeps climbing, so that is not showing the torque peak, just the hp peak. Some engines peak at very low RPMs as far as torque goes, such as 4k RPMs or lower. LT1s peak at 2-3k if I remember correctly. This particular engine I would guess peaks at around 4k like other LSX engines.

Outstanding, i just have to put my props down too.

The torque might be "low", as KingCobra1336 suggested, because it's a relatively small engine. Nice work, by the way... astounding numbers.
