36bd9fbd - After reading your comments on my video's, along with other comments you've posted on streetfire, I have now concluded beyond the shadow of a doubt that you really need to put down the crack pipe. Seriously.

To avoid the rain you don't be stupid and drive through flooded areas. That simple. STS are the pioneers of rear mount turbos and they are the best. FAR less heat, and less lag if any compared with in the engine bay. It does not matter how far away from the engine the turbo is. It's acutally getting faster flowing exhaust gasses in the rear vs. in the engine bay there by making more boost and no lag, etc. Far superior to APS systems.

lelek, you don't really have a choice not to run an intercooler, although.........if you really wanted to blow your engine into molten piston bits, crack on.......!! I guarantee it'll last about 1day, if you're bloody lucky!! Look, just leave the turbo where it is. Oh, and by the way everyone, it's a common misconsception that turbos are nicknamed blowers, that'd be the correct nick for a supercharger. A turbo sucks, better than the missus actually.....

looks like rear mounted turbo is way to go on tight spaced cars , im just curious how the rain water will affect the turbo in the long run , but i guess that being so far from the motor is not nearly as hot , are you running intercooler ?

I'm curious blkconvert and also a bit woriied if my intake temp was that high!! And as for gaining an extra 50 horses by dropping it that much, you're talking out ya arse!!! Sounds like a completely unsound place to mount a turbo I mean, why would you bother??? Suggest you go back to reading ya playboy......
Thefastone, you're dead right, just turn the boost up, why wouldn't you? You've gained 50 from outta space so what's the harm in using 1 or 2?

You loose like 1 PSI by mounting the turbo in the rear, but you lower the intake temp buy 100 degrees if not more. The lower temp is easily god for 50 horse. Newer cars are really cramped under the hood, not much room for a turbo and the hardware.

ok..ive recently saw a lincoln with a rear mount turbo....for the first time...what is advantage of having it in the back of the exhaust and having to run pipes all the way to the back of the car?? sounds like a pain in the a s s! And what if you hit something on the road like a dog or something wont everything go to crap...also there would be water and dirt to deal with on the street...i just don't see any pros, for this setup? Anyone??
