The polar ice caps are getting smaller (if you say so) due to our natural planetary rotation and axial shift. You know, the whole ice age and warming cycle the Earth has been doing for millions of years. There is no more carbon of any kind in the air now then what there has been in the history of our little blue rock's existence. We just need to find another oil rich planet to exploit so we can continue or fun for many more years, thats all.
