The 951 or 944 turbo for those who do not know, doesn't even compete against other cars of its generation ...because the others always lose. Thats why the 951's have their own category races. Rock on 951, mild upgrades still beat corvettes and mustangs.

The 928 was underated also.. 345HP in last bits of life from 1992 to 1995. Problem was they were an $80,000+ monster in 1992!!!! You can find dece nt older 928's for around $5,000.

That is the most true thing i've heard ever, Porsche's are one of the best car's on the road, it comes ready to hit the street's and even the tracks. Nowa day's they come with a steady 450 HP, 190 MPH engine, if you don't like Porsche's you are crazily out of your mind, my ideal Porsche is a Porsche 911 Turbo. Porsche, No Substitute. :)

i own a Porsche 944 Turbo and i can tell you from first hand experience that it is the most underrated performance cars known to man. I've blown away Lotus Elises to BMW M3's. My only mods are a chip and a full exhaust. I just looove to see the looks on thier faces when i tell em' its a 4 banger

Nice drift. Kinda funny commercial. Anyone else notice the string rendition of jimi hendrix's purple haze as the background music? I thought it was kinda cool.

I've owned 2 944 Turbo's (951's), and I can tell you they are one of the most balanced handling cars ever put on the road. My 89 "S" was basically a race ready car for the road, with adjustable spring perches, tranny oil cooler, LSD, monster (for that day) Brembo's, etc. As for the debate on their 0-60 times, let me add this. First, the small, low compression engine was NOT designed for off the line performance. Very hard to launch properly. Tall gearing again not helping. Second, the car was kept artificially slower than it's potential by the Porsche marketing department in order that it not outrun it's 911 brother. Just a chip unlocked the engine giving it a 60hp boost, and dropping the 0-60 time to about 4.8. But on the highway, it's a whole different beast. The only race I ever lost once moving was to a Viper. 80 to 120mph was unreal. Top speed around 172. On the track, I could easily outrun even the 996 version 911 (1999 to 2005), and keep up with heavily mofified racers in classes several up from mine. Cheers.
