785505, why do you care. The Boxer engine has been called that for a very long time, longer than you have been alive I suspect. So give the name and engine some respect because it sure has earned it.

There are some Porsche 911 GT3s that are rallied, look for the vid. They can't rally 911 Turbos because the engine is too big. Porsche 959 did win Paris Dakar rally a while ago, no Subaru has done that, and it's a lot more gruelling than any WRC event.

Sure a Subie would out rally a porsche or any other exotic, it was made to. However, if you have ever driven a STI you will notice the really short gears and then it all makes sense that they werent meant for draging. STi's and rally cars are geared for hole shots due to all the turning and having to get out of the turns super fast. Ultimate setup is the STI motor and tranny but regular 02-04 WRX gear ratios. Shifting 3 times before 60 in a STi is uncalled for and if not for that 0-60 times would VERY LOW 4's, 3/10 sec per shift. 6 speed is uncalled for too. Marketing tool only, I think
