yeah my mom had a 79 T/A with a 301.....i hated that motor but loved the car. and hey "alwayscode390" i love my 90 bird that i have now cant wait to get working on that project. Pontiac should not have been done away with.

I have a 1980 pontiac yellowbird. it has a 301..it's not fast by any means, but it's nice enough to cruise and still corners better than alot of these cheesy ass import cars.. and girls look at my car more lol. (turbo 301's had bigger mains and thicker cylinder walls..using todayts turbo tech you can get a 301 to over 400 hp.. if it holds together... siamese port heads was just a retarded idea.. once again though.. pontiac is the only manufacturer to have always produced a muscle car. chevrolet....HA. the 74 trans am sd 455 was faster than the vette... should have killed buick instead.

I had a 1980 Daytona Pace Car Turbo T/A, it certainly was slow. But really nothing was fast from that era (1975-1983)... I think it ran the 1/4 at around 16 seconds? Now the 1989 Turbo Trans Am was another story!!! factory 13 seconds! Would even out run the Grand National. Thanks to aero-dynamics... I sold the old '80 Pace Car for $3,500 back in 2003 and bought a top -o- the line pentium 4 computer...LOL!!! probably should have kept the T/A...LOL!!!! Computer still works pretty good... am I rambl'n again?

pointiac makes good performers, like GTO, G8 and the differant GXP models. To bad they didnt sell better then the General might not have killed them.
