well, those Group B cars will never come back, because the safety regulations are getting more strict every day.

But, there are some competitions held around the world where they drive mid 80's rallycars and if you have enough cash you could buy a Group B car and go rallying yourself.

Of course, ie Audi Quattro S1 costs a fortune.

Back when engines were allowed to fire a full cylinder, and throttle was controlled by a driver.. Ahhhh. Do not like that car, but that generation made real engines- the sound is obvious. The mid 80s is my guess, the las t of the real cars. Am I the only 33 yr old who hopes the past comes back in more ways than I can count?

Dude, current WRC rally cars are still not at the same stage times as Group B. WRC rally cas are limited to 300 HP via turbo inlet restrictors and ar e disallowed blow off valves, using anti-lag instead. The reason WRC cars are getting up to the speeds of Group B, is vastly improved suspension des igns, advanced 4 wheel drive systems, downforce, and most importantly: Tir e technology.
Group B rally cars like the Peugot 205 T16 Evo were putti ng out over 500 hp. That 405 is probably, as said, putting out 400 or more .

Otherwise...the jumps that thing was hitting...jesus. Those landi ngs had to hurt. I'd much rather take something with a few more inches of wheel travel please!

In the element that car was built for, which was the Dakar, it would beat t odays WRC car. It has has around 400hp and weighs some 1300kg. Butthe engi ne was down tuned for the Dakar. There's another vid called "The climb dan ce" of the same car but with around 600hp and 950kg. Some versions have re ached 1000hp.

are you on crack? The current peugeot models are trash, the older ones were ok though, they may fall apart but at least they had character and were f un to drive
