I'm on the fence regarding that. When I had my F-250 4X4 there were several times when it came in handy (off-roading in the desert, snow, etc), but I'm not convinced the additional cost made it worth it for the number of times I used it. Since this is primarily a street truck, it didn't make sense for it to be a 4x4 this time. Who knows... I'll probably regret it one day. I did take it up to Tahoe this past winter during a major snow storm and icy conditions. I never lost control of the truck, and that was with the lousy stock tires too!

Oh it does look sick, thats for sure. Very nice truck. I would personally never spend the money on a 2wd though, i'd buy a 4wd and even if it were a road queen, i would always have that 4 wheel drive there for when i'd need it.

Well, for a bunch of reasons really. It's a personal preference and a lot of people (including myself) just like the looks of a lifted truck over a stock stance, and bigger tires. You can still do an amazing amount of off-roading with a 2wd truck; it's just a lot harder to get out once you're stuck. I've had lowered trucks, stock trucks, and this is my third lifted truck. I wouldn't have it any other way... to me it makes a rather drab looking truck into something cool and Tonka-toy-like.

Why bother lifting a 2wd though?
