I'm doing a swap in a 2002 chevy blazer its fairly similar i would say that this swap is far from easy from oil pan clearance issues to A/C box clearance issues its a mess and i tried to do the wiring on my own i got it to start and fire then die immediatly what i figured out was that the security system was shuting down the motor so i'm just going to get the wiring harness from Current Performance Wiring he did black X's truck and is doing a computer, wiring harness and headers for my blazer the swap is expensive and time consuming but if you have the money buy all the stuff ahead of time then it would still be a challenge but not as bad as the crap i'm goung threw there is a parts list and photos on S10forum just search for 5.3 swap and black X has a sticky with a parts list for ya
