oh yeah I knew Miata was i4 not rotor. Missed that. Yes 1 of the Mustangs for the movie had the swap but the other like 3 or 4 had V8s for most of the action scenes. If you crash one its cheeper to pwn a V8 then a done up RB I guess?

None of the Miata's were rotary powered. Some of them are swapped, but only the RX series and Cosmos had rotaries in them, and I one of their trucks in the 70's. I don't think Probes ever cam with Miata engines, but I never owned one so I don't know a whiole lot about them. I do know that they had either a 4 or optional 6 cylinder.
Also, I saw a book in Border's about the cars of TF&TF that said what the cars had done to them, how many were made, etc. and they actually did swap the motor into the Mustang and drifted with it (wasn't it an SR20, not RB26?)

To bad for your loss man, my uncle had a GT, man that little guy flew. I dont get it though, if your probe came with the Jap engine, was it rotary cause to my understanding all miatas where rotary engines, but thats just what i heard. Nice, sad, video.

No cobra or mustang twin turbo will beat that rb26dett motor in the mustang that's like saying your twin turbo mustang can beat the skyline which it can't!! but the mustang is only rear will drive so it might be close but no golden medal. and yes if it has an import motor in it it does make it an import :p, the motor is everything, the body is just a body from the manufacturer and embels as for their ownership... if you pulled up in a mustang with a the 4cylinder motor swap from the s2000 and roll up in a big block v8 crew, pop your hood and tell them you still representing domestic's...i won't be suprised if some one smacked the royal purple out of you!

Don't go there... an equally modified Twin Turbo Big Block Ford in a Mustang would spank a RB26DETT in the same Mustang. The 3 Mustangs used in the movie to film the drifting scenes still had Ford V8s in them ;) and an import engine in a Mustang does not make the CAR an import ;)

[MN12BIRD] is right, that's why i call it an import because the motor is japanese.. so for anyone else keep calling it a domestic because it's ford pop the hood and take a look at the MAZDA V6 brand.. like the mustang on Tokyo Drift, once they put that RB26dett motor in it, it's officially an import...and way faster than the cobras i must add!

It's basically a Mazda MX6 it is a Japanese Chassis and the engine is basically the exact same as the Mazda minus a few little changes. In a way you could say it's an import even tho there is a Ford badge on the car. Tibby has more V6 torque? Anyway an RSX-S is much more expensive of a sport compact FWD coupe... one would expect it to be faster.
