Actually, the only Corvette to come w/ an LT4 was the '96 Grand Sport. All Corvettes came with LT1's from 93 to 96. Then they went to LS1 in 97. Although the 9C1's that came w/ the LT1 used the Corvette block, the heads were cast iron instead of aluminum. The weight about 42 lbs more but the flow better than the aluminum to give the 4200 lb 9C1 / Impala better low end toque. hope this helps.

I wish people would quit saying 9C1s have "Corvette" motors, Corv ettes have LT4s. Caprices weigh around 4200, not 5000.
