You're right, motorcycle gearboxes don't have reverse, and nobody in their right mind uses "2 gearboxes" as josh4 said! That's why he span it round using the handbrake. Some kit car builders add a starter motor to the transmission to use as a reverse gear (that is, the starter motor actually moves the car backward, and is disengaged when the car moves forward again.)
