What a machine, for the price you can't get anything better in performance. All power to Nissan!

Anybody who is judging the new GT-R is talking out of their ass:
A) It's not out yet.
B) They didn't drive it.
C) They don't know anyone who has drove it.
What we do know is that it has:
Twin Turbo V6 @ 450BHP
$70,000 coupe.
And it's going to be a success buisness wise.

I have a buddy whos uncle did the testing the some of the new Gt-R/ they said that it is rated at 450hp but really throwing out more like 530!! THe motor is based on the NEw HR block jus bored to a 3.7! the oil flow design on this motor is amazing! well capable of takin 600+ from the factory! if u check out nismo japan. they show the motor internals n wuts went into its design!! Its a V6 but a sturdy one! JUs wait nissan has a V8 ()4.5 that they been usnig in GTJ n shit.heard around the grape vine that this is only introduction GT-R. give it a couple years its goin have a monster V8 hitting 9500rpms all day! :) lets u a if ya domestics can do that!?!?!??!

You claim to be going to these "meetings" but by this point in time, all of the deciding is over with. All of the car's features are /were set in stone long ago and all that has been going during spring and summer is final developement. Half a year before final production is way too late to be deciding on transmissions, engines, etc.

Gallardo, Viper, Z06, GT, F430, 911 turbo all use 19's some use them rear only though and stick with 18's up front. So I guess 20's aren't that bad plus who knows what kind of huge rotors will be equipped on that thing I know the F430 has 15inch disc so you need a lot of rim height to accommodate breaks like that.

but you have 450 horses stock...not to mention, electronic assist turbos that get rid of lag...where else can you get that? why would nissan sell an affordable awd z when they can sell a more expensive car under a name that has a cult following in this country? anyway, my point is that we don't actually know the pricing. neither of us can comment on how great this car is because we have never drivin it. i see where your coming from but you are assuming a modded 350z will perform similar to this car. i, for one, have very high expectations for this car.

I know what you are saying about the wheels, BUT if Lotus designed the entire suspension and they wanted/needed 20s it has got to do the trick
According to Nissan in the meetings I have been in they are deciding between a Getrag 6-speed manual or a magniusim paddle-shift sequential automatic with seven or eight gears like in the Ferraris and Lambos.

My biggest complaint with this car is the fact that 20 inch wheels are confirmed for production. 20's are for cadillacs, not sports cars. Also, listening to the video, the gtr sounds like it is an automatic. Please, nissan, give me a clutch!

By what I have heard it will be a bored vq35 with twin turbos and will indeed be built by cosworth. However, do not laugh at the claimed 450hp because the car, by what I have read, will have relatively low boost from the turbos (8-10psi). This is intentional to meet emmissions requirements and they left room th the table for people to just turn up the boost and increase power. It is nissan's way of saying tune this car.
