actually there are quite a few well known malfunctions, such as the #3 plug on the ignition pack corroding :p but seriously, and the passenger side window malfunctioning

Yeah, that's what I would thought when I was getting it. 99% of the problems were related to the 2002 S models. Trust me once I got online to try to figure out what was going on with my car I found probably a thousand plus cases with the exact same issues. Even so BMW would not recall any of the faulty pieces. That's what happens when you buy a product that comes out it's first year.

the mini cooper handles really good and there is no malfunctions on mini coopers lol there might be maybe urs was in an accident of some sort thts y its malfunctioning

I love my car. It really does ride like it's on rails. The one thing about BMW built cars is all the electrical interference. My EML light has came on three times. When this light comes on your mini will go no faster than about 30 mph. I had to have my electrical engine harness replaced. Expensive car to own.

i heard those mini's have amazing handling, would beat a lot of really expe nsive cars in the turns...know two guys who are BMW/Porshe driving instruc tors and the M3 loses to the mini every time by a good lenght! It is a bit pricey though
