yeah i agree.. the Mclaren F1 looks so modern even by todays standards. wonder if there are any aftermarket parts for this. 627 hp and 240 mph! and to the kid that said his 600hp civic would beat it... i very much doubt it clown. the way it accelerated after it came off from the banking was incredible. 270-300-330-370-391. wow! i would just KILL to have this car. but servicing it would be a nightmare. £25.000 or about $50.000

Your talking about Jeremy clarkson and when it comes to supercars I really wouldnt listen to much he says, as every supercar he gets into is " epic" or "a hammer blow to opposition" or it's that " it's the best car ever" even though last weeks car was "the best car ever". I have seen the race you refer to and it was fun, but it has been admitted that the end of the race was fixed so he finished fir st. the Bugatti may be a faster car but only because it uses 4 turbos a nd Bugatti loose some obscene ammount of money on each car sold something like £5m , which is another reason the Mclaren will always be NO1. Mclaren F1 best car ever bar none!

Andy Wallace who is driving this car knows a thing or two.He won the 24hour race at LeMans twice and has races at Sebring and Daytona too.I say it's amazing a car with only a normally aspirated engine without turbos or supe rchargers could reach that speed.It speaks volumes for its excellent aerod ynamics.But before you bash the Veyron let me tell you this.At these speed s the McLaren is twitchy and not very stable.Only racecar drivers will be able too drive this fast,most owners won't go above 200mph if they value t heir lives.A Veyron,on the other hand is rock-stable at 250mph+.That's the true achievement of the VW engineers.Ordinary drivers will be able to rea ch 250mph quite safely.Make no mistake.The Veyron could probably hit 270-2 75mph but the tires are designed for 250mph and even that was neigh on imp ossible.So faster than 250mph is NOT safe and therefore the Veyron is limi ted to 253mph.Also,where can you reach such speeds?I say everything above 200mph is just too fast.

your civic with 600 hp will beat the mclaren in acceleration but it will on ly top maybe 160-170.. you still got 70+mph to catch up.. its all in the g earing..

At the time all you Vyron haters did their funny comments about the Veyron could not hit 240mph the Veyron it was the fastest production car in the w orld... in April 2005 it did its first 400km/h plus run, the fastest ever clocked run was a 254mph...the Veyron is a technical hammerblow according to a british journalist who has driven all current supersportcars... inclu ding F1... other than the F1 which nearly is nconrollable at speeds over 2 00mph the Veyron is as easy to drive like a 90hp Golf... try to get a copy from the BBC topgear episode where they hammer a Bugatti Veyron from Ital y across swizz through france up to the north across the Channel to London ... the tester was completly blast from the performance!

I wouldn't consider the F1 "low-tech," even by today's standards. The engine bay is plated in gold, simply because it would conduct heat t he best. This car is without compromise. Amazing.
