Neeseius, with a smallish turbo you can have a decent power curve. I have a 60-1 on my 7M (motor from 86.5-92) and I see full spool before three grand (full 350rwhp/370ftlbs), which leaves me about 3800RPMS of power and if I shift fast enough I don't loose much boost in shifts so it's pretty much always there. It definitely doesn't feel as torquey as a 5.0 or an LT1 (my main V8 driving experiences) but it DEFINITELY feels more torquey than a 4.6. If you brake boost it feels like you've got instant torque =]

I don't know who was building your mustang motors, but they obviously had no idea how to put one together properly. I would have a done a Turbo 5.4L DOHC.
The Supra is NOTHING but BOOST. The modular actually makes some power of its own, even when you're not making boost, the 2JZ on the other hand, if it isn't making boost it's falling flat on its face. It would be hard for me to go from such a flat torque curve to a much peekier one

Leo's Single Turbo Supra on pump gas 17lbs. Adding a little freestyle soundtrack of my own.
