cool to watch but it proves nothing. like jimbo said these look to be junkyard motors. what they were equiped with, what they came out of, mileage, maintenance, oil, year, ect ect came into play. next time take a brand new ls1 and a brand new mustang engine from tha same year and see whitch lasts longer. i bet ur gunna see a ford rod before ur gunna hear a chevy missfire. bring a tent and sleeping bag :)

some fords have more problems and some chevys have more problems.people don't like hearing but reliability wise they're about the same

It's also important to note that those are both junkyard motors.

I don't really see a big trend of Chevy's puking bottom ends more than Fords in the older motors.Yes, a good deal of 302's came with forged cranks, but the block is the weak point. It's just a waiting game until something fails.

Basically, I could make a ford break just as easily as I could make a chevy break.

400hp is easy for a chevy.their is no appreciable difference in strength with the bottom-ends of the two.one "rock solid" fact is a 5.0 block eventually will split in half with over 500hp.a SBC and a 351 SBF are virtually the same, the 302 is just not as strong though

i know theres a lot of "depends" about it. but in general ive seen many fords run 400+ hp on a stock bottom end and just as many chevys let loose under the pressure. im not biased to ford or chevy. i like all american muscle. im just saying when it comes down to it, its a rock solid fact that chevy rotating assemblies are simpler, cheaper built, and basically not as strong.
