If now the ford engine is so great, how come the Ford GT is so slow? ;)

Maqe2, yes the CCX STILL uses the Ford Modular engine architecture and basic block casting, it just has a Koenigsegg logo on the side instead of a Ford oval. The ONLY difference is the CCX engines are assembled by Koenigsegg and they aren't purchasing the block through Ford channels anymore. Teksid of Italy casts the Koenigsegg block and that is the same company who cast blocks the Ford 4-valve DOHC V8 engine from 1993 - 2001. This block can be found in such mundane vehicles as the 1993-1998 Lincoln Mark VIII and 1996 - early 2001 Ford Mustang SVT Cobras. The Ford-Teksid blocks can handle over 1,000+ hp in stock trim, there is nothing special about the Koenigsegg block other than the logo change. Koenigseggs doesn't have the resources to design and engineer an engine from the ground hence they used and CONTINUE to use Ford Modular engines. The fact that Koenigsegg is assembling these engines in house now doesn't change the fact they are still based on the Ford Modular engine architecture.

I love it when people run their mouths when they don't have a damn clue. The Koenigsegg CC8 and many CCXs used the Ford 4.6L DOHC V8s (standard .020 overbore bringing it to 4.7L), built with in AMERICA by various engine shops including VT Engines of Mustang fame. The CCX uses an engine Koenigsegg ASSEMBLES on site with a block cast by TEKSID with a Koenigsegg logo on the side, but guess what, this is the same aluminum block casting used on the Ford DOHC 4.6L V8s for years which TEKSID cast for Ford until 2001 when they brought aluminum block casting to the Windsor Assembly Plant. All Koenigseggs use Ford Modular V8s engines, whether assembled by VT Engines with parts from aftermarket builders here in America or assembled by Koenigsegg. Koenigsegg has tried to distance themselves from the Ford name because Europeans and Eurotrash lovers can't wrap their puny minds around the fact that Ford builds a better basic engine than the Euros do.

It starts life as a Ford V8 DOHC but 90% of it is modified by Koenigsegg including the 2 superchargers.
