Does the baking also normalize the block?

is there any reason why you take the freeze plugs out after you bake the block? i went to school for engine machining and we were taught to strip everything out of the block before we start everything. just wondering if there was any advantage to leave them in during the bake or just personal preference?

Very cool. I would love to have done that with my transmission case when I rebuilt it a while back.
