If I were to save tons of money in buying a FordGT, obviously I would stick to the 03-04 Termi's and Lightnings because even a 4670lbs truck are capable of up to low 8.46 sec. in the 1/4 and also capable of up to 1600 hp w/ the 4.6L aluminator from Ford Racing for Cobra's , or 5.4L FordGT block from Ford, JDM, or Johnny Lightning performance.com for the Lightning's and these engines will never grow to become a 7L, so that's Barely Modded in my opinion! The only differences over the stock would be the durability to handle more heat and stress w/ these high hp set-up and also save some weight from additional cooling devices to cool the engine, but even w/ these 1600 rwhp stang will never be close to owning a FordGT. And being a Ford guy, it is a must to have 1 period. In addition I could also avail the 302 5L stroker through Ford Racing and the 4.6 aluminator and Roush also offers the 588 cu in. Eliminator 7.5L engines and these engines are capable of producing 650hp/700tq w/out any help from the supercharger and that's not even the extreme racing package engines, but will not compare to owning the Ballard design Iconic GTR roadster w/ 420.cu in. Ford engine in it, similar to the A.C. Cobra body, but very high tech and even Lighter than the Veyron, but will cost you 600K $$$ including the TT S7 w/ Competition package almost 1200 rwhp because it is a more refined Jewelry in my standards, I also keep my pride w/ the things that I've built, but buying the most limited ed. items are very unique as well as refined. Like buying a wine etc.etc.

I care why Ford priced it the way they did, face of the matter is you can pay aprox $170,000 for a 1000hp Twin turbo Z06 from lingenfelter or pay probably between $250 to $300,000 for the same power Ford GT.. and if both cars were exactly the same power it would be an even match (down to the drivers) but the vette owner paid a half the price and has every thing a GT has thats all i am saying. But again dont get me wrong i LOVE!!!! this ford GT and would probably still give my left arm for it

ford didnt price the gt that high for performance. its that high first of all its an exotic and then there are only a handful of them thats why they are priced so high because of rarity not performance.

I love this car... but the price just doesnt warenty getting one... not that i could afford it either way.. But considering my old man got a brand new C6 Z06 and a built engine + twin turbo kit from lingenfelter for less then $160,000 cdn (156,000 us) that comes with 800hp and can be up graded to 1100hp for about $15,000 from lingenfelter thats still less then you would pay for a for GT and have all the same performance of a GT.. if not more (but thats another debate)
