i know a guy with a 5.3 single cab standard bed with only a cam,
headers,headwork and tune and a stall and hes ran a 12.5. i also have another friend who has a 6.0 in singlecab sportside truck cam, stall, tune, headers all that stuff and they raced and guess who won yea the 5.3 and the 6.0 had a 150 shot. this happened at belrose louisiana at no problems speedway at the get together tx vs ms vs la.

There are two 5.3s made for one 6.0... I bet this motor cost WAY less. I think the new 5.3 will be the next '350' so to speak, based on production numbers (driving down cost). Also, 5.3s come in cheap trucks... you want a 6.0, you need to find a scrap Vette or GTO. As for the 5.7, well, he's dead, Jim.
