IROC won. For you fans of the cars on here I have this to say.

Both cars back in 1988 were very popular, close in performance #'s but the Mustang was cheaper. The IROC-Z however was a better handler & had an overall better handling/suspension rate than the LX or GT. The numbers on 1/4 miles & 0-60 times were very close with the 5.7 Liter IROC & the full blown 5.0 Fox-body.

It all depends on what you really like though. The truth is is that you can take any IROC & make it a beast just the same as you can with a Mustang GT. I prefer my IROC because it handles very well, hugs the corners greatly & is very fast off the line. On rolling races I'd say a stick shift would be better but then again I've been able to pull ahead & stay ahead of a SS Camaro, 5 speed (I'm sorry, 6 speed).

All I'm saying is that I think both cars are great pony cars. I think that it comes down to personal preference & what you can afford too. In the end it's hopefully all about a good time when you race someone. Be respectful &
