that thing was so badass, but it would look so much better if it were just solid blue without the neon tribal tattoo. its fast enough to have a paintjob like that though and get away with it.

first of all 8.65 isnt even close to pro stock numbers. and a drag built big block can take that kind of revving. they see between 8 and 9 grand on the big end every single pass. and race built small blocks can rev unbelieveably high. a local guy around here has one in his nova with a 5 speed and shifts her at 12 k. nice car nice run but nothing out of the ordinary

I've built my own 383 and had the entire rotating assembly balanced... Used a 400sbc steel crank, Manley H-Beam rods, Keith Black 12.5:1 pistons, and revved past 8krpms multiple times, 8.5K to be exact, thats where my rev limiter is set at...its not really the rotating assembly, its the valve train that needs attention. Chromoly pushrods, titanium spring retainers, double valve springs, full roller cams, lifters, and rockers are a must.

for a v-8 its pretty high.. 8k is high.. 7k is still kinda high.. i shift my 385sbc at 6300.. and its a fully forged bottom end.. its all about your parts selection.. i coulda built it to hit 8k but money becomes an issue.. you NEED high dollar parts to rev out
